Julie was previously the Head Choir Director at Rouse High School, where she also directed the award winning IntoneNation Show Choir. She has been the vocal director for the Rouse HS musical since 2016 and is a 3 time award-winning recipient of The Heller Awards for Young Artists Best Musical Direction award for Bring It On, Les Miserables School Edition, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.  

Julie is a Vocal Coach with her studio, Rhodes Vocal Arts, and is also a Vocal Director for ZACH Theatre’s North Educational Campus Advanced Musical Theatre Company. 

Julie also works professionally in the Austin area, including music director for Southwestern University’s musical and will be the music director for the upcoming production of Beautiful, The Carole King Story at The Georgetown Palace Theatre in the summer of 2025. She also currently serves as a board member for Penfold Theatre in Round Rock, TX. 

Julie received her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Lubbock Christian University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, with honors.  She also did graduate work at Texas Tech University in choral conducting. 

She is passionate about helping students reach their best musical potential.
